News for Spring 2017
There are so many exciting things coming up this Spring and I just want to share a few with you!
Gospel Workshops
Marcus Mosely, Bill Sample and I are conducting a number of Gospel Workshops around the Province. These are opportunities to introduce Gospel style singing traditions and techniques and for participants to experience firsthand the joy and inspiration of the songs as well as the sense of connection in singing with others. CD Project & Release Concert
In March/April we (Marcus, Bill and I) will be doing a CD project with Marcus and the Marcus Mosely Chorale featuring mostly original songs either written by Marcus or the three of us. We will be having a CD release concert in May to celebrate this milestone!
Ketchum & Sample - Social Justice Jazz
Ketchum and Sample performed recently at Frankie’s Jazz club and will be doing a number of upcoming gigs as well as a CD project of their own. As we have been writing we have noticed many of our songs have themes of social justice so we have started to describe some of our music as “Social Justice Jazz” (SJJ). Our CD will most likely contain a majority of these songs. We are planning to head into the studio late February or early March.
DK Quartet in the Lower Mainland & the Interior
The DK Quartet will be performing at Missionsfest at the Art Café as well as at Jazz Evensong in March at Brentwood Presbyterian Church and are starting to book their 4th Summer Music tour to the Okanagan and Kootenays.
